=Jwin=, with 6 feet of wall space, you and your mom really should look at the MarineLand 300g. It's 6' x 3' and as a stock tank, it's a lot cheaper than going custom.

It was 2 years before I went from the 29 gallon to the 46 bow.

Then I had the 46 for probably 3 and a half years before I went to the 72 bow.

The I had the 72 for less than a year, maybe 7 months, and went to the 125.

I had the 125 for about a year and a half - that got too expensive for me in electricity and I was never truly happy with it so....

now I'm back down to the 72 gallon bowfront as of this month actually.

I still live the footprint of the 125 for our available space. But a 24" wide instead of 18" wide would be ok. But I fear it'd stick out too much and make the whole area look scrunched. If only they made 72" x 20" x 22(or 24).

Actually a 180 looks really good...72x24x24. OH the decisions. Plus, that argument my mom had doesn't hold ground too well. We have tons of people around here who could take care of a tank for a month. My best friend's family lives in our neighborhood, and they had a 55 reef back in the pioneering days of fish/coral keeping where they had the old school style stuff running on that thing. They now have a more modern 29 gal reef and a 10gal tank, all SW. If I move out, I'll still be in the same city as our house, because this is where my college is. And I'll most likely be living with my best friend who owns the 3 year old 29 reef. So that's about 4 able tank sitters right there.

So for tanks, it looks like either the 125, the 135, or the 180. The 180 is a heck of a lot of tank, so that's iffy. We want a bigger tank, but we don't want to break the bank with a wrecking ball either. It's nice that the LFS with a full 125 reef running has access to 125 sizes in different heights (like the 135). So if we need the extra oomph, we'd get it through them.

I just finished setting up my 120. I have a 9' span where our entertainment center sits. I want to sell it and put a 8'x2'x2' tank in its place and then a flat screen on the wall above it. My wife just isnt cooperating at the moment LOL. maybe one day :)

Pretty much plugg and play but.. due to i am laid off it has been chillng in the garage. I have a chair out there and i will sit and stare at it oohhhing and aahhhhing it from time to time...

I sarted this hobby the end of June this year. Sarted out with a Red sea 130. Loved it and On the 10th of October (just over 3 months) found a great deal on Craigslist for a 55 and ADDED this tank to the other and now have 2 tanks. Since I started in June my wife has become very interested in the hobby. She bought her first fish yesterday and is completely hooked. She had no idea what it takes to decide on the right fish (research mostly). She also has started to enjoy aquascaping. I am a very lucky man. ;D

my hobby started with a goldfish in a bowl..... then a 5gallon walmart kit.... to a 14 gallon walmart kit.... then I got a little smarter and did everything on my own for a 20 gallon.... from a 20 gallon to a 46 bowfront which I crossed the road into saltwater. After a few months of having a saltwater setup I purchased the 90 the I currently have.

Dont see any upgrades in the near future... probably the next time I move which isnt anytime soon.
