    Skimmers contain the smell rather well. It's only when you clean them when they smell.

    I smelled Princess's skimmer for like 30 seconds yesterday, and it actually didn't smell too weird. Probably all the algae dying off...it must not smell bad or something. Because our Octo skimmer smells TERRIBLE >.<

    I have a seaclone HOB skimmer as well. A 100 for a 29g. Mine pumps out gunk like theres no tomorrow, looks like really dark green tea. I skim wet. Anywho, you definitely have to adjust these things often....

    ok, the way i look at this skimmer, is hopefully in a few months i will have my new skimmer on the new tank, and this pos is going in the trash

    I think is smells delicious.. Like a sizzling platter of beef and chicken fajitas on a bed of sauteed onions, green peppers, and the right combination of herbs and spices to get the hunger going..

    Lol I wish mine would smell earthy. Mine smells like when my dog has liquid **** and throw up on top of it. Smells really bad and makes me gag everytime I have to clean it.
