    could not clean mine very easily to much rockwork in the way

    I clean the front regularly - the sides once in a blue moon and the back never

    Algae is really not your enemy. It provides food for pods and herbivores/omnivores, it consumes nitrates and phosphates, and it lowers carbon dioxide and raises disolved oxygen levels. While it's not very aesthetically pleasing on the rocks or substrate, it should be allowed to grow somewhere. Personally, I will, on occasion, vacuum some from the back glass when it becomes excessive, but I would never scrape it clean.
