    when the lights are off at night he/she shrinks looks deflated, during the day he looks fine. healthy looking help please.

    Internal pressure known as turgor pressure in anemones can change significantly during light and dark periods, this is discribed as part of a hydrostatic response.

    If lighting, flow or any other environmental condition is incorrect then this can stress out your anemone and also cause this kind of response. If your anemone is only withdrawn at night I would assume it was due to change in turgor pressure as a response to your light cycle.
    Just clear things up, a few questions...
    What lighting do you have, what size is you tank and do you monitor any other parameter; what are they currently reading at?

    oh, I got two high output t5 lights 36 watts each. both are 10k and 460nm actinic. 10 gallon tank. i get the rest tested once a week at the lfs i dont im a penny pusher i need to buy some every time i go every thing is perfect chemistry
    tank is 7 months old. yeah the other night i did a two gallon water change and dosed essental elements one every two weeks
    and iodine like the bottle says .50 ml once a week

    82°F is fine, I run my tank slightly cooler at 78-79°F.

    mine fluctuates from 80-82 night-78 degrees is that a big temp swing...
    whine the light are on the anemone looks happy

    a temp swing of 2-4°F over 24 hours will be okay, anymore than 4°F can be quite stressful for organisms.

    oh i was scared when i got him(bc it hasnt been a year), they said that he was easier than bulb tip anemone. That was a lie but he has done perfect for a month.
