I have a problem with my powerheads location it does not matter where I put them I have sand on my rocks and also it creates a valley in front of the glass to the point where you can see the bare bottom.

    Does yours sand stay flat?

I have 2 powerheads in each corner that are pointing at each other wich I thing those are fine. My return is a rotating head and it point 45 degree down and I think that my problem. If I extend the pipe and turnthat 45 pointing up do you think it would help or will the current still bounce off the glass?

How is your return set up?

I know it's a lot of question but i will appreciate any help:)
look at the picture and let me know what could i do to fix my problem

its trial and error, I have 1 powerhead aimed accross the back towards the waters surface, other is barely angled down accross the front of my tank. I still get valleys, but I use pieces of LR to block the flow a little where the sand gets blown up. they do sell other powerheads that have wider flow patterns not so direct.. that helps.

they also sell FLO rotating deflectors that makes your powerhead into a wavemaker, so you wont have that same directonal flow blowing sand everywhere too..

my sand moved some at first when it didn't have much bacteria and other organics to hold it together... how old is your tank?

ive got 3 k2's on my back glass. 1 is behing the scape to keep water moving there. 2 are up in each corner , deflecting off the glass for angled movement. and another k2 on the side glass for lengthwise flow.

here's a picture of my powerheads. I do have my return flow next to my over flow box and its aimed towards the rightside of my tank.. basically a clockwise whirlpool around my tank going back towards the overflow box.
