    Whats happening to my toadstool, Can i please have some help. It was doing so well. Some how i think last night it started happening like this, I actually moved it to take some pictures right now. In my suggest is it dying. How do i avoid this not to go further to kill it. Help please.

    What is look like? take a picture so i can help you out.

    It might just be shedding.

    I would put it back where you had it,probably just sloughing,it'll shed a layer of "skin" and come back even nicer,they're pretty hardy.Unless your params are off or there is flesh decaying,i wouldn't worry.They can shed for over a week.

    +1. My toadstools will get like that every once in a while. Sometimes it can take as much as a week for it to "shed" than comes back better than before.

    Agreed...if params are good to go you will notice a thin layer start peeling back and after a few days the 'shedding' will be over and everything will be back to normal. Sometimes it looks like a bad sunburn when you start to peel...sometimes a single large piece. Nothing out of the ordinary. Again, I think this is what you are experiencing if all your levels are good to go.


    Edit: a Toadstool will also look like this if something like a anemone brushes up against it. If it starts showing patches that turn white and pieces of it's flesh start dropping off then the problem isn't what I think it is and it should be removed from the tank. It can be saved with a razor blade and some fancy cutting.

    It will close up for couple of days. then it will shed and reopen.
