What to place under return pump?

    Just wondering what everyone uses under there return pump to stop the vibrating noise(between pump and glass).I have hear some use a mouse pad?(what kind?. wouldnt it add some kind of chemicals to the water?)..my old pump had suction cups, but now im using a mag 9 no suction cups. I have tried egg crate but it dosnt seem to any good..Any info would be great thanks.......

    you can buy vibration pads. I cut down a sponge.. (just have to take it out and clean it once in a while.

    +1 on the vibration pads, I have seen them many places, shouldn't be too hard to find.

    bubble wrap works wonderfully, but you will need to replace it occasionally. The bubbles eventually pop.

    Just another idea. You could cut two pieces of hose. maybe the clear hose that you can use with pumps skimmers etc.. Cut two pieces and wiretie them to the pump.. Just make sure the wireties do not have metal clasps.

    I used a basic mousepad.. but i didnt like it so now my pump just lays on the glass and really doesnt make that much noise. also its a MAG 9.5

    I used a thick, spongy mousepad. I keep my old ones for this purpose.

    I use the really cheap white filter pads. They are about 2x2 so I can cut them down to 4 each sheet. 5 sheets in a package for like $8. I take it out every two weeks and replace. It is amazing how much crap gets on one.
    Just another filter and it stops the noise.:p

    bubble wrap is like duct tape many uses lol

    this is a good idea also.

    why didnt you like it,looks,function??..I know its a mag 9.5 I was just to lazy to write it..lol.lol..figured 9 was close enough..lol

    just the solid colored ones or it dosnt matter?

    I actually have these laying around .but dont want one more think to clean lol..
    Thanks all for the ideas..prob will get the vibration pad or just find an old mouse pad...

    i dont know why I didnt like it, I guess I kept thinking of it tucked away under there trapping detrius in the fabric and raising my nitrate levels.. its all crazy thoughts..
