Did a cursory search for salt creep and just found people talking about it in passing. So the question is do I recycle it, or toss it? I live in a very dry desert climate, and while most of my system is closed to wiped down every 2-3 days there are corners and nooks that I don't get to. Is it ok to just toss the creep from those back into the sump, or should it go into the trash?

some of the minerals are no good in it any more, but it wont hurt anything if throw it in provided your not throwing stain or chemicals the creep acquires from the stand

1+ with Sostoudt... careful of chemicals and dont do in in the DT... It tends to clump and when ii sinks, it can burn or kill fish, corals, and inverts alike... I just toss mine

I knock my creeps back into the DT.

The fish go for it as food, spit it back out, go on their way.

    No problems.

My warrior finger tip gets in nasty fierce combat. First, I sneak up on the creep. Then I watch for an opportunity to strike. Then, quick as lightening, before the creep can respond, I flick it back into the water and watch it dissolve! BWA HA HA HA

    i lol'd.

Yeah, i toss mine back into the display tank. be prepared to have a turkey baster or something to blow off the salt creep if it lands on some coral and doesnt seem to get pushed off by the water current.

For all it's worth, I was told NOT to just wipe it back into the tank..
Large pieces can land on coral, etc and burn them, maybe even kill one if enough landed on it..

Still, I use a small bowl with alittle tank water, wipe mine in it.. Then add it back to the tank.. But I never really have much as I stay on top of it..
