So i have been thinking whether to sell the 14g or keep it? i dont want another reef just for the point that its too expensive for me to keep two of them. But i was thinking of a frag tank, i used to buy these huge zoa colonies from an LFS and frag them up and sell them and make a profit off of them actually. But would setting up a frag tank in the biocube be the same as a regular tank? the biocubes are right next to eachother and this is another idea, could i buy like a K nano for the 14g and instead of having that stock return pump returning water to the tank..I would take a tube and connect it to the 29g. and do the same with the 29g, except probably buy another return pump. So that would be TWO return pumps(one going to the 14g and another going to the 29g:confused:?? what is your opinion on this idea?

So you're planning a sump-like connection? Same water, but one will be a frag tank?

Correct...I thought it would help keep the tanks a little more stable..But im not really sure if it will actually work..

well i have read that 2 pumps circulating water between 2 tanks is a bad idea and a disaster waiting to happen, even if they have the same gph and same brand. creep build up and clogs can make them perform differently and with that small of tanks you have very little margin for errors.

Why not put one on top of the other? You can get an overflow box for the back of the 29 gal Biocube, and have that run down to the 14. Then have a return pump in the 14.

But i like the idea of the overflow box and stuff, But i would like to keep the hood though, so i wouldnt have to buy new lights, or would i be able to put the over flow with the hood still on?

there's always drilling. the biocube back wall material seems like it'd be easy to drill. you'd have to syphon water before you do it though. you could switch livestock to the 14 g while drilling the 29. itd be a big job. watch this vid.

do you know how tom post the vid directly? and you could just on YouTube, search Vavoomskill, and look at his sump/fuge walkthrough. the only difference is that the fuge isn't a 14 gal BC.
