Are you planning on running an ATO? The return section in your first picture looks awfully small, meaning more frequent top-offs. The second pic looks much better.

The return section only being 1g was not really the problem. It was the footprint that I was unhappy with. it is not big enough.

I need a 1" bulkhead(or whatever the size is for 1" PVC?). Could I get this at a LFS or should I juts order online? I already have the drill bit.

Dangit. So I will be ditching the 20g fuge. I like the idea, but just not for this situation. In the new house, the tank will go in the dinning room against this wall.

On a side note: the aquarium stand will be "skinned" to match the corner cabinet to the right. I will use that cabinet to store my extra aquarium stuff(buffer/carbon, refractometer, salt, etc.)

Because of this, I think I may have to go with the idea of having the Coralife 65 hanging on the left side of the sump. What are the negatives to a HOB skimmer if it will not be on the DT? I know leaking is sometimes a possibility.
