I've been out of the hobby for a few years and I'm looking to setup a 120G tank I have in storage. I will have a large sump and refugium setup with this. I'm probably going FOWLR for now, but I may convert it to a reef later on.

What skimmers should I look at?

I have a 125 reef that i just started recently, and i have had good luck with an AquaC EV-180 so far. Works much better than my previous Corallife superskimmer.

I have an AquaC EV series skimmer on my tank too. For the volume of water your talking about between the tank and the large sump/fuge I would suggest at least the AquaC EV-240 as a minimum.

Depends on what the budget is.

Plenty of brands out there, but my opinion is to stick with needle wheel/venturi skimmers. Not that pressure driven skimmer like EVs and Becketts don't work, they do. It is because NW skimmers do it as well if not better and use much less power.

I like asm's decent performance and not super expensive.
