I just got an octo 150 nwb off craigs list for 120$ that was only 3 months old, had to be patient and search different areas on the site, and had to make a 45 min drive but it was worth it!
Thanks to much advice from people here my skimmer actually is starting to pull some yuk after 24 hrs. Make sure you have room the 150 is a monster and I almost couldn't get mine under there and in my sump . It displaced more water than i would have liked in my 20 gal sump but i am in the planning for a much bigger sump/fuge upsize. Very simple operation and very quiet!

doesn't the octopus have a regulator valve to control the amount of water?

mine is the older version that the one pictured i'm guessing?? its adjusted with the vertical tube (slider) there is a mod for like 25$ to add a gate valve in place of the slider that is supposed to make adjusting flow easier but i'm gonna wait till my new sump is done before modding as it seems simple so far....

I have a 90g tank with a 24g custom sump, using an ASM G-2 it's a bit more pricey than the ones you listed but it's a great skimmer

I'm not sure about the standard vs. recirculating, but as to the G-2 skimmer, I love mine. It is plug and play, not alot of adjustments to be made and it really grabs the gunk!
