I'm getting ready to order some macro algae tonight and I need your opinions on what I should add. I know I'm getting chaeto for sure but what else? I was thinking of getting mangroves but I heard they don't do that well so what else should I order?

well you could get some ulva or similar plants that fish like and you can feed it to your tang and use it in the fuge

Yeah I was thinking about getting ulva because I heard that copepods love it and that I could just stick it inside of the chaeto. Plus my yellow tang would love it.

i recommend chaeto, mangroves, and ulva. IMHO, that is the best combination you could find. Where are you ordering from? reefcleaners.org ? I recommend ordering from them because their cheato already comes with pods ;)

IME a bed of sand with different types of caulerpas/chaeto works well, ulva is good but I find it hard to grow because my pods eat it so quickly. I go into my LFS and ask if I can have some stray seaweeds, they seem to grow like mad in with there coral frags and are constantly pruning.

I end up pruning my fuge tank every 2 weeks and feeding some of the seaweeds to my tangs in my DT.
