I don't understand this comment? There is water moment, more if you add a pump such as a hydor nano. And I'm not sure what else you would want to run in the filter other than carbon and GFO? Live rock goes in the tank, not the filter LOL. I think that if you don't want to mod the lighting, the edge is not the best choice, however, it is tiny, I don't think I'd want to go smaller, definitely not a 3g.

Wouldn't recommend it. Stick to fish that grow to a max size of 1" or so. There is a 12g fluval coming out shortly though, you could probably keep an OC.

I have heard of and seen many of these tanks get "greasy" surface.
Since it says in the OP he wants a fuge, I figured the Dymax was better choice.

Panda gobies are good. I don't think either the par30 or par38 is ideal for the edge though. The nice thing about the edge is you can look down into it. If you hang a par 30 or par38 above it, I'd think it would produce glare on the top glass. If you don't want to do diy lighting a small cube is probably better. I just think 6 gallons is ridiculously small and 3 gallons is half that.

Also, length is another important aspect to consider. The edge is very long for a 6g. Much shorter, and you probably couldn't keep any fish. I'm not sure what else is out there that is long and small though.

Re: greasy. I havn't found that to be the case.

Re: Dymax, probably if he dosn't want to do diy lighting, but is there a bigger dymax? .
