Seems like some places and articles recommend MJ1200( which is what I ordered)
But in the same reefkeeping article they mention how it's too much flow and you have to modify it.
    Reefkeeping Magazine - Calcium Reactors
Seems it will fail early if you don't let some water flow through the pump since the CX reactor really doesn't need any where near what the pump is capable of.
Melevs reef also said he was using MJ1200 but thats a really old article.
So I'm wondering if I should have got an MJ400. Or maybe an aqualifter. I've never had an aqualifter but I guess it would work. I've read mixed reviews and thought a little more flow might be better.
    So.. whatch ya'll using?

I'm wondering why someone isn't making a dedicated calcium reactor pump. Or maybe they do.. It appears the MJs need homemade mods to get it to fit right.

I use a MJ 400 or 600 as the 1200 is too much as you say for my 100G system and reactor. It only needs to keep up with the drip rate since the reactor itself has a circulation pump already.

depends on the size of the reactor and how much effuent you want coming out of it. I use a korallin 3002 and i have the intake tee-d off a mag 9 pump that feeds a brs dual chamber media reactor. This has worked out great for me and i get a dual use out of the pump

I got a Maxijet 400. Trying to figure out how to attach the water line from it. Got any pics of how you did yours? It comes with one connector that the water line goes out the side but I'll have to somehow close up the main exit to force the water out the side.

    eheims are great pumps.
Did you hook up 1/4" water line tubing to it? If so did you have to make any special modifications or did it have hardware to hook it up directly.
The Maxijet I bought is a marineland and seems really cheap. I would probably take it back but it's not really worth driving 10 miles down and back to this place for $25 lol.
