What's your plan for corals? Without that, we can't tell you what kind of flow you need.

400 gph is probably the bare minimum, though.

i want some zoas and maybe a softy and i like the ones that look like bare trees i think they are sps but honestly im not sure it depends on how the rest of the tank goes. coral is at least a year away

You're going to want 800+ gph worth of powerheads, and possibly more to eliminate dead spots.

it would do if you had 1 power head rated at 800 gph IME
But of you had 2 rated at 400 gph then you can direct it and you dont get a massive amount of flow in any 1 direction

with your set up, I might be tempted to go with 3 power heads/ wave makers

1 in each back corner pointed slightly up wards and aimed towards the centre
and the other about mid way down the tank pointed along the back of the rock work

that should eliminate any dead spots
and you will have areas of turbulant water front and centre for those bare trees SPS you like
and calmer areas either side for the softies and LPS

Post the link if you like shecter

but Korallia, Tunze, Seio are good brands of wave maker IMO

Some of the E bay Chinese made product is also good IME (Sum Sum, Korallia copies I have had some of them almost 3 years without any issues)

    LOL

yes some people have issues with sand being blown about with to much flow from a single power head, but if you used one of those on the left hand side of your tank, all your rock would be moved to the right hand side of your tank

are you sure that was gallons and not litres per hour ?
