So I was at Walmart today and got some more super glue and ran across some epoxy putty. It's Loctite Epoxy Putty and the packaging says sets in 5 min, waterproof, binds brick/concrete/metal/etc. It's the two colors in one tube kind, you know the one where you cut a piece off and knead it together. Do you guys think this would be safe for reef use to hold rocks together or hold coral frags down?

I used the stuff and haven't had any issues. It is a pain in the butt but It works. Someone on here recommended using both gel superglue and that epoxy so that is what i have been doing and it is working quite well. Sure beats paying for the stuff in aquarium stores.

Funny you should ask anpgp, gotta tube right here of the green LFS stuff that you gotta mush together. Lets see, the package says ".....Warning, wash hands with soap and water after use. Contains epoxy resins and amine which may irritate sensitive skin. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with water and contact a physician. May be harmful if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children"........Go figure. This one is made by Marineland and claims to be reef safe.

I don't think yours could be anymore "reef friendly"? Let us know what is printed on your package.

I use the loctite gel super glue. I have yet to have a problem. It sets almost immediately once it touches water. What you want to do when you use the gel super glue is dry off both things you plan on glueing. Place glue on both objects and let it sit for about 20 seconds. Then attach the items together. Wait a few seconds then place in water.

I think we're talking about Epoxy but I'm sure super glue (any kind) is no less "reef safe".
