My tank is on my desk in my home office so I spend probably 10+ hours per day sitting next to it.

(my 46G freshwater is across the room)

We all must have our favorites right?

My freshwater is a pair of bumblebee loaches that have been together for probably five years now and they are just fun to watch.

In my saltwater tank it's the simplest of things that I like. I have one tiny (talking smaller than a nickle) zebra legged hermit crab. He was probably the first thing I purchased and he's still around. He spends all day doing little more than walking the perimeter of the tank to the point that it has worn a tiny path along the edge where the sand meets the glass.

I don't know why, but that 99 cent crab is the thing that makes me the happiest to watch.

    What about you all?

For me it's a toss up between my quickly growing green hammer coral and my 6 line wrasse,he has so much character and color.

Yikes, this is probably the toughest question ever! lol

I'd have to say my pair of perc clowns, especially because of their interactions with my purple tang.

Well, since I don't have any fish in my tank yet (since I accidently killed them from a 2nd cycle) I created, I'd have to say my soon-to-be live rocks. These were used by someone else, and there are all kinds of dried coral on them. I can find something new on them each time I look.

How do they interact with the tang?

I do love my clowns as well, they are camera hogs and are always the first thing to greet me when I sit down at my desk.

having raised cichlids for 20 years fish with personalities are something I'm used to, but these clowns are something else.

My emerald crab is my favorite. I could spend hours watching him devour things just as fast as his little legs will let him. My second favorite thing is my yellow clown goby. He's been pretty emo since I first got him but now he's developing this really cool personality and isn't skiddish at all. Sometimes I have to encouraging him to move when I need to do things. lol

It's mostly them cowering in fear between the heads of my torch coral. ::)

No lol, it's because they're constantly doing semi-aggressive things over different territory in the tank. One day, the tang has an area, the next the clowns do. The tang never gets near the torch coral, but the clowns never get the right side caves. My tang does backflips with his dorsal fin up, trying to get the clowns out of the way, when I feed nori, but the female clown distracts the tang, while the male grabs some big chunk seaweed, swims it back between the heads of the torch and plants it there (0 flow in a certain spot, as they found out), then comes back for more. It's really fun to watch them lol.

I can't wait until I have a tank big enough to get a tang. My lfs has tried twice to sell me one even after knowing all I have is a 29G tank.

I've refused them both times....it's like trying to park a hummer in a single car garage.
