Thanks guys!!! It is very interesting how people end up in this hobby. I think that most beginners come to this hobby, first cause the anemones and clown fish, then read a little more about everything and get addicted!!! Great hobby! Karma was sent! :)

My favorite part is being able to have a piece of the ocean in my house. The ocean is something we know very little about and I have part of it. :)

I love watching things grow. Corals are awesome, though I've yet to have one.

I lived near the beach when I was little. I loved going their and playing in the sand and water. Occasionally I would see an urchin or jellyfish. The jellies are pretty sweet. I think I was mesmerised by the huge tanks of coral and fish in the Marine Science Museum. The rays and manatees were cool as well.

I always wanted to go to the aquarium and now I am able to have one in my home. It's not quite the same, but it's mine, and I am taking care of it, myself. :)

Awesome, Seano!! You kinda have the same mind-set as me. I love watching things grow! I go to Destin every year for a 1 week vacation (i think someone on here actually does live there) and i LOVE it! To see all the life and sea creatures that live there it just fascinating to me! One day, i will live there and i will live no where else. I want to live on the shore one day and be able to have access to the ocean when ever i want. Ultimate goal in life!

Same here. I want to live on my own private beach. :) ...with my reef tank and a 60ft sail boat.

For vacation this year I want to go to somewhere on the East coast. Or maybe New Orleans again...that was fun.

Have the same story as a lot of people. My dad had a FOWLR tank back when we were young with a big lionfish in it and I've always been fascinated with and loved the ocean. Been talking about wanting a tank for a long time and my wife finally went & bought me a 75 for our anniversary. Little did she know what monster she created ;D. My favorite thing about the hobby so far is the enjoyment I've gotten from putting it all together and the knowledge I've gained.

For me - I got inspired by my Dad. He took me where ever he goes into the sea and I started loving it. The most best thing I loved was at Thailand some 4 years back.

Like 2in10 and reefmonkey I had fresh water tanks when young. While buying fresh water fish there was always the salt water tanks around the corner. They were always so beautiful. Set my first salt tank about 10 years ago. Had many little failures, sure wish I knew about this forum earlier!
The beauty of the fish and corals is what draws me to the salt tanks. The challenge of water chemistry is another.
