what is this growing on my live rock??

    what is this red stuff thats growing on my rock? theres quite alot of it.

    looks like a type of coralline. Good algae.

    If its slimey, it could be a type of macroalgae or cyanobacteria. But its looks like good ol coralline to me.

    It is hard to tell because the picture is so blurry, but it does look like a type of encrusting algae. I wouldn't worry about it. If it doesn't look slimy or spread out of control It's most likely harmless.

    Yes, does it feel slimy? If they are hard and sharp, they may be something other than coralline.

    Could be foraminiferans.

    no it doesnt feel slimey.from what i have seen i think it is red coralline

    Looks like coraline that is dead. Everytime I"ve cured rock, I get specks like that. When coraline dies it changes color for some reason. I've had red and orange. I will eventually fade IME.

    no they dont look like that, and they are a very deep red too
