I've had bryopsis before but it didn't look like that. Is it only growing on the glass or the rocks as well?

Certainly a type of macro algae...I don't think Bryopsis either from what I can see...but beyond that it's hard to say. If it was me I would remove it via siphon before it has a chance to spread. I take the approach that any macro in the display has the potential to get out of hand so it should be eradicated while you can, LOL!

The only reason I say remove it now is you never know what various algae will do...some don't grow out of control...some do. Problem is you don't know until it's too late if it's something that will go crazy, LOL! If it were mine I would use a siphon hose and scrub it off the glass with the end of the hose/tube...that way what you knock loose will get sucked into the hose instead of floating around where it can land and reestablish somewhere else.
