My fish room seems to be stocked more from Lowe's, Wal Mart, and The Kitchen Collection store than from the LFS.

So I had a thought what are some the strange items that you use for your fish tanks?
The items that weren't originally designed for tanks but make the job sooo much easier.

    Me: measuring spoons and cups
turkey basters (I love those things!)
wood clamps for holding hoses in place during acclamations and water changes.
    toothbrushes
    colanders
ratchet strap (currently holding my filter together while parts come in the mail.)
And a whole selection of different size plastic cups for mixing and feeding.

    What do you use?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Razor blades
    Tweezers.
Plastic spoon for scooping out pest anemones.
    A billion paper towels..
    Shot glasses.

I have been prohibited from using any more cooking utensils " go to the dollar store Cheryl".

My wife yells at me for using our glass cups and measuring spoons/cups so now I have my own set. I also use various plastic containers for acclimating or holding random crap I pull out till I throw it away. Nothing to weird I guess.

    Razor blades - algae removal
    syringes - spot feeding
Clear drip tubing - for acclimating new arrivals.

Once or twice i've heard, "Put that stuff away before our friends get here. They'll think we're drug addicts."

I once bought Red Cross Toothache medicine (Euginoal) to put my puffer to sleep while I cut his teeth. I've done it 3 times and God help the person that touches it.

Hmmm...acrylic/suction cup bath soap holder (with holes in the bottom) for frag racks, and panty hose for media bags, etc. The list could go on and on after 14 years of doing saltwater, but those were some of my favorites
