The hardest part of reefkeeping is the reading, researching and preparing. This is an ongoing thing and their is always updated info on equipment etc. and the fact that you are going to continually add living animals to your tank, you are always being tested as to placement, compatability, husbandry, water paramenters etc.
So that is why reading and research is so pertinent to this hobby and the success of your tank and inhabitants!

I think the hardest part is...figuring out that perfect routine of feeding, maintenence, and just looking.
I think there is a routine, that once your tank is used to it its all good. Money is always an issue. Everything seems too be so good that its worth the buck, but when you add the buck in the end of the year, a lil 40 gallon breeder is at 1800+ dollars, and that 125 you just setup is at 3000+ dollars.

But as wee all agree, its worth the trouble!!

    making mistakes

    HI,
I hate when I make a serious mistake cause I am new to this and it cost me the pain of lossing a fish or invert that I really like.
    Boy that bites,
The more I learn it seems the less I know..:-[

    I voted other...

The hardest part for me is waiting for my paycheck!!! Its so hard to sit here on the all mighty internet and see all of these possibilities, fish, tanks, etc etc, when you cant get any of it!

Its ok for a few days when I spend the allocated portion at the LFS then its the most anxious 2 weeks ever haha...I hope I grow out of it.
