    Hey we have had this algae pop up twice now.. We are not sure what it is. How do we get ride of it for good. I know their was a post on this type but I have not been able to find it.
    PH: Normal
    Alk: Normal
    Nitrate: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Phosphate: 0
    Amonia: 0
    CA: Our test kit is bad we need to get a new one
    Lights are on for 8 hour days, we do weekly water changes. We feed once every 2-3 days.

    Also, salinity is 1.024, and the temp is 78 F Tank is almost 10 months old

    Neomeris annulata (turtle-weed)

    It's fairly harmless as far as macro-algaes go. It typically goes away on it's own.

    I cannot give you a 100% response that it is OK to let it grow because I do know of 1 case where it became a pest algae as bad as filamentous algae. However, usually it just dies off. If you stay in control of nutrients, it typically just starves.
