I've been wanting to 'alter' my scape some, by moving some of my large rock pieces back towards the backwall some.
So today, I had some time- so today was the day!

I did some major 'excation today'

I took out some big rock pieces and big colonies

I almost forgot another one of todays changes/additions.

As many know- I don't have a controller on my system- yet anyways

So, when a local reefer was selling a used Finnex Digital Heater Controller-
I traded him some PVC fittings for his new build for it.

I currently have 2 heaters in my sump- a 400W and a 300W= totaling 700W for my ~260 TWV system.
Previously I had them both turned down all the way- so as to keep my sump around 78.

Now with this controller, I can turn them both up- plug then into the controller, and
keep my system around 79F, with an audible alarm I preset for 75F, or 82F.

My posts never seem quite as exciting as Todds, but I did add a piece of Monit cap and a Ricordia today along with a general sump cleaning. Oh, and straightened up a bit. Seems as if my supplies must move around on their own over night!

Per your recommendation.. I moved the coral under a ledge I reconfigured and repositioned power heads to supply a little better flow to that specific area.. I figured it couldn't hurt...

Picked up my new sump I had built and my new skimmer. Getting everything plumbed in and ready to run. It's a 20 gallon long tank turned to a new sump. 20141218_195618.jpg

Drilled my ATS and added the 1" drain on the bottom with an emergency 3/4" drain on the side. More photos on my build thread tomorrow. Going to try to get the pipe for the screen at least partially done tonight. Probably won't dremel on the slot for intake until tomorrow after work.

My tank has been dropping in temp bad since it's been cold down here and my Florida room is not well insulated. First winter since my 300 has been up and running and buying a heater has for the lack of better term slipped my mind. I scored a 500w JBJ True temp off a local forum for $40. Is that a good deal? and is it going to be enough to even effect the temp in my 300gal tank? I've researched and saw that 1000w is recommended for my tank size. I figure it's better then nothing in there.
