I used the long epoxy clay once, I'm not sure of the brand, and I used it to stick some corals down. I'm not so sure i liked the hold. I using my hand once and broke it off (purposely) without too much resistance. I mean it was hard, but not exactly tough. I'm sure if I applied it to a piece of clean, dry rock it would hold fast. My whole thing is, I dont want the epoxy to not hold, the rocks topple and break the tank and ruin my life!

Also, what is really the best way to handle aquascaping. I have my rocks piled up and it looks like a rubble. I'm getting sick of the look. I really wouldn't mind something new, seeing Katie Grant's thread about her aquascaping stirred me up to do mine over.

I attached a crappy looking pic i took with my phone recently, I've since cleared up all the hoses and crap. The majority of it anyways.

I think I'd like to do a more minimalistic look. My tank is only 12" in depth, width, breath (whatever you wanna call it. There's a lot of places my vacuum can't reach because of how much rock is on the floor of the tank as well.

Is there an Ideal style, something that the fish would like more, or something?

2 part epoxy is what I used and it holds great.

painting the back of the tank can help camoflauge the hoses also. its a little tough to see how youre scaped there. but some caves and ledges serves places for the fish to swim, hide or rest. plus gives additional coral placement. but cant really tell how you have because of the shadows.

silly question perhaps but is there a brand name you could mention? I live near a Home Depot and want to make sure i buy a SAFE product.

As far as "holding great" - just how permanent does this stuff hold? Permanent enough to require a hammer to break it off for future scaping endeavors?

    thanks for your help.

I use a combination of superglue gel and 2 part epoxy. The epoxy if I need a lot of volume or structure, and superglue gel if I need sticky. You can even combine them by taking a piece of epoxy and forming it how you want and then putting some superglue gel on it for added sticking power. Works great.

Last night I went grabbed another stick of that epoxy, it's like what Otty suggested, but Marineland brand. I only did a couple pieces of rock to see how it's gonna hold up. I happened across a piece I had put on previously and it held very well. I suspect the bonding issue I had previously was on the coral's side. I'll do another couple pieces tonight perhaps and try to get the tank looking a little more lively. I only now realized how much rock I have in there.

I'd like to paint the tank, but there's no room back there, and moving it is definitely not an option. :( I use a backdrop now, but algae still slowly builds up :(
