Can you guys help me decide what i need? I have a FOWLR with an emerald crab and a 3" rectangular trigger. As you probably know, triggers are messy eaters, he leaves little bits of shrimp all over the tank bottom. I need a fish that can clean them up for me, what would you recomend? I was thinking of getting a six-line wrasse to clean up, untill the trigger becomes a threat to the wrasse of course. Or i could get a mexican red leg hermit crab. What do you guys think?

Hermits, nassarius snails, or a sand sifting goby ;)

I have my doubts about that, I think it will depend on how large the pieces are. They need to be fine enough to travel through the gills with out injuring the fish. I would suggest as packleader said some hermits and snails. You probably wont' be able to get nasarrius snails because they require fine substrate to burrow in. If you find that the trigger is eating them too quickly you could try a goby. I don't any other fish though that will hang out on the bottom like they do. You could try a starfish or urchin too.

i just got 4 mexican red leg crabs, of course my trigger has been attacking them but he isn't quick enough to catch them out of their shell. Are there any other fish though? It doesn't have to sift sand, it just has to swim around and pick up the little chunks of shrimp. Could a yellow wrasse work?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh... i reaad goatfish are good bottom feeders. That'll be perfect, is there a goby or blenny (not sand-sifters) i could use? What about firefish? i dont know anything about them though, i just know they're pretty. ANd, I'm probably not getting the niger trigger. Also, what about yellow wrasses?
