none of the fish you have will harm the goby and they dont eat pods anyways so you should be good there aslong as your tank has pods in it for the mandarin you should be fine. id try to make sure you dont have any fish that eat pods aswell like scooter blennys or sixlines

ya i agree no other mandarin species like a scooter blenny or spotted mandarin and most wrasses eat pods so thats a no to them. The other thing is 34 is way to small in my opinion unless you have a refugium. have you had any of the above fish that i mentioned if so how recently have you had them up till because this will affect your population. i would also ask the lfs if they carry any that have been weened onto live food and if they say so ask if they can show you. but overall you should be always be able to maintain and keep the mandarin healthy without prepared foods if they do eat prepared food its just an added bonus. personally i would not get one if you only had a 34 gallon tank

The Mandarin is my fav too. You should make sure you have a clump of chaeto in the display and a lot of live rock for the pods to hide in the day. At night get a flashlight and see if you have a bunch of pods. If not don't get one until you do. If your tank is a year old or more you should be good.

    ENJOY!

i dont know why people are actually telling you to get one. you must have a refugium go by my post above having chaeto is a good idea but make sure its in a refugium or it defeates the purpose of a safe place for the copepods. the chaeto will also attach itself to your rock and spread rapidly which wont be good. once again i say dont get one unless you have atleast 50 gallons of water or you know the mandarin eats prepared foods

there is absolutely no need for a fuge to keep this fish. I have never had a fuge and I have PLENTY of pods, all different kinds. Even if you have no pods, yo can still feed mysis and brine. I dont see what the big deal is

K+ Just got a green spot yesterday that is eating brine and blood worms from a VERY reputable LFS. They won't sell any mandarin unless it is eating frozen food.;D
