The fish is a Green Chromis and the white stuff looks like sponge or bacterial growth....no harm either way

Definitely not a green chromis. It looks a little like a Rollands damsel can you take a better pic of it?:-/

they are very fast and zip around the tank, it was hard enough to get those pictures but ill try some time tomorrow

they look kind of similar to the rollands but definitely not it, maybe some kind of hybrid between that and a talbot? theyre a dark green and fade to white just before the tail with a black dot at the end of the dorsal fin and under the pectoral fins the dark green goes to like a light green or a yellow before fading to white at their bellys

the color of the majority of the body is the same as this guy without the spots its a pretty good match if you were to ad the white tail/belly, yellow under pectorals and a black spot near its dorsal

WTS: Jewel Damsel - Absolute Reef OnLine!

could also be a hybrid with a borneo damsel and someone else....the borneo damsel seems to be the right color/shape but they have a little more white on them with that black spot below the dorsal

so ive come to the conclusion that these are the most similar looking species while the 2nd one (a kind of bicolor damsel) looks the most alike but it does have some feature of the 3 spot damsel pictured below it but im still not 100% sure

very nice link but still no positive ID, i think it may be a cross breed between 2 similar damsels, is this possible? I know not all damsels can cross breed
