I just finished my DIY HOB power filter fuge (thread later today) and keep hearing about pods in fuges. Can someone tell me what exactly a pod is, and what other types of critters might live in a fuge, most notably a small fuge like I configured from a power filter.

    Appreciate the help.

Amphipods, Copepods, and Isopods are miniature shrimp or bug-like critters that feed on detritus and algae. They're also a live natural food source for many of our pets. Pod Farming, such as in a fuge, is an easy way to maintain their population.

    Cheers

They're tiny curstaceans. They eats algae, some eat detritus, and fish like mandarins and some blennies eat them.

They're like a mobile storage crate that's get dropped off at your house for you to load up with crap you'll never need and then it's moved to a place you'll never go. There for horders that don't want to admit it.

    Haha...I had to do it.

I should do my fuge "build" today. Did you do anything extra aside from maybe some sand & having macro algae?

    That's very true. :):p;)

I'll go into more details in my posting later today, but I'm planning on adding LR and a few small pieces of LR to the DIY fuge, and I bought some chaeto from Dingo and should get it this coming week. I played around a bit to get the design like I wanted it, but overall it was pretty simple to make.

My next DIY project is a "hidden fuge for inside the tank. ;)

I was waiting for a comment like this!!! ;D
