What else can be used besides glass?

    still looking into building my own tank what else could i use instead of glass to make the bottom more durable?

    Usually if a tank is made of glass, it is entirely glass. If you want alternatives, some people have built acrylic tanks and plywood can be used for larger tanks as well.

    Thanks for input, Yeah i wanna build a 200+gal cube so i guess i should just stick with 3/4"LIG ;D will look the best i think.

    Will the cube be viewed from + sides? If only 1, I would consider plywood. There are a few threads on here with DIY plywood tanks. It saves quite a bit of money when it comes to larger tanks.

    If it will be viewed from 3 sides, I would go glass unless it is no in a high-traffic area.

    Yes it will be viewed from all side or from atleast 3 like you said I am still trying to come up with the design in my head where i want the overflow and all.
