What do you think looks better?

    I'm an old-school canopy gal, but don't see that being done with pendant lights.
    The rimless looks cool if done right or in the right setting with no rim around the top of the tank, but I like my fish in the tank, not catfood LOL.

    A true rimless tank would be my choice if I were to go open top.

    Thanks everyone for your opinions!

    I'm trying to make it as "sleek"(I guess you could say), as possible.

    A true-rimless tank isn't a option for me at the moment, as I would need to buy a new tank. Rimless tanks cost quite a bit more as well. So I'm making due with what I have.

    2 Boost LED bulbs(3B 2W diodes) should be plenty. It's a lot of light. The pendents will be 6" above the water, over ans SPS reef. :)

    Many might say I'm daring. I'll agree with you. :D

    I like option one. I love looking down in to my tank. I am also not a fan of canopies. I think they are cumbersome and ugly.
