What do you think looks better?

Option 1: open top tank. I just put a trim around(2.5" tall) the top of the tank to match the stand. I don't like the look of the black trim that comes on tanks & won't be taking it off at it is there for support. Although, I do like open-top tanks.


Option 2. A bit more closed in, but still not a canopy. 6" tall.(the top piece)


I will be using pendents for lighting, so there will be no "top" to the tank, in either design.

The first one...But idk im not a big fan on making the tank look higher then it is...but if you get a canopy then i wouldnt look bad.I almost did that for mine...

I like them both.

 

Canopy

 

Option 1 is merely for looks; it is to cover the ugliness of the black trim. It doesn't really add any height to the tank. It sits on the top rim, covering the trim sides.

kind of funny. I though everyone would go with the "rimless".

I like canopy because you can hide all your equipment

I'm not worried about hiding equipment. The only thing going over the back of the tank will be a single return line. Lights will be 2X pendant LED bulbs.
