    thanks m lacom99. i would of rather bought an dslr (had my mind set on a nikon d70 w/ macro lenses) but since i wasn't the only one that was going to be using the camera (my wife), i ended up getting a point and shoot for it's ease of use. i do love the touchscreen though, the megapixels and how small the thing is....fits in my front pocket. :)

    @amcarrig - You really should ;D.

    @jonathan - The touchscreen looks cool as heck. I used to own a point and shoot before my dslr. But luckily my wife likes bigger cameras also... and she was nice enough to let me buy a $2K camera when i know we had more important things to buy. ::) So i consider myself lucky to have this brand new toy that i dont fully undersand yet. ;)

    Thanks for sharing all of you@ :2thumbsup

    Marc.

    I will......pinky swears!! :)

    I'm also waiting for my town's adult education schedule. They were offering a basic photography class last January but I couldn't take it at that time so I'm hoping that they offer it again in September!

    Im using a Nikon D-50. I use a 60mm Macro lense for close ups, a 18-55mm for...regular shots, and my beloved 10.5mm for that great 180 degrees fisheye look!...I used my 70-300mm for the dolphin shots...upload them eventually ha.

    Wow....all you guys are using some pretty heavy-duty toys. No kidding you all take wicked shots.

    I'm using a Canon S50 digital (point and shoot I guess). I'm pretty sure if I read the instruction manual I may probably be able to take better close-ups but this hasn't happened yet :p

    I really like the 60 mm macro, but i think that (if you have a nikon) a newer macro is out...but the 60 is great because it makes photos 1:1 ration when you print them out at the right size...i think standard is 1:1
