I'm using a SONY DSC-T7 with the under water marine kit. The trick is to have very still hands :)

For the pictures in my gallery, I used a Nikon CoolPix (3100, I think). I now have a Canon EOS Rebel and once I figure out how to use the confounded thing, I'll post new pics :)

 I have the same exact camera and lens as you but I refuse to spend $600+ on a macro lens before I know how to use all of the camera's bells and whistles :) I also plan on taking a photography course in the fall so that'll help some.

I have a Fuji FinePix E510. I usually use it on a tripod without flash.

I've been looking on the web for some good tutorials but cant find anything descent, got any links???

The apperture is the opening through the lens created by the iris. Just like the human eye. Typically called the f-stop, it is a ratio of the diameter of the iris to the diameter of the lens. Each halving of the f-stop increases the light through the lens by a factor of 2.

The practical effect of this is that a smaller f-stop will allow a faster shutter speed to get the same exposure, allowing you to stop faster motion.
