    So I haven't been on here at all for the past three weeks cause of my summer job. I've been working as a camp counselor for the my college. I lucked out and got to work the Explosives camp for three weeks straight. It is the only camp like it in the entire nation and is open to incoming juniors and seniors in high school. The camp is only one week long but well worth the money. Let's see, just this past week a saw a 300+ foot tall water spout made from a one gallon jug filled with Anfo, a wall of fire made from starter fluid, a fireball over 100 feet tall (it towered above every tree around), shape charges, explosively formed projectiles, 52 high explosive detonations (including C4, Anfo, and other things), felt the shock wave inside an underground mine from a stick of dynamite that was only 50 feet away, watched a rock wall being shot at a quarry, blew up boulders and watermellons, and got to go over a 1000 feet underground in a lead/zinc/copper mine and witness and feel them blowing out a 20'x20'x14' section of the mine with over 2200 lbs of explosives. Let me tell you what, being that close to dynamite in a mine and feeling the air burst hit you as it's going out and then as it's coming back in, the walls shaking, rocks falling in front of you, that's an adrenaline rush if I ever felt one. Then to finish out the week, the campers got to choreograph their own fireworks show which included lighting 16000 firecrackers at once. I don't know how many of you guys watch the discovery channel, but the host of the short lived show The Detonators is a professor at my school and is the one that runs the camp, Dr. Paul Worsey. Here a just a few of the pics and some videos from this past week.

    Sweet!!!

    At the camp I used to do for a week every year, we discourage fire and explosions for obvious reasons.

    Here are some interesting stats;

    3,243 kids in grades K-8
    • 987 volunteers (Thank you all!)
    • 158 watermelons
    • 485 gallons of Gatorade
    • 5,700 bags of cotton candy
    • 260 pounds and 8,350 bags of popcorn
    • 6,928 pounds of ice
    • 167 gallons of syrup
    • 18,200 sno-cones

    They were given the option to model whatever city/country/monument that they wanted and they just chose France. The first week did the Vegas Strip and the second week did a collection of random monuments.
