I have been using the following for a while and need to buy more additives.

Kent Strontium and Molybdenum (only use this once a month)
    Kent Super Iodine
    Kent Coral-vite
    Seachem Reef Buffer
Seachem Reef Complete for calcium. Also has magnesium and strontium in proper proportions. I would use the 2-part stuff, but I am honestly to lazy and this stuff seems to work well for me.

I would love to switch all my supplements over to seachem or atleast try another brand. What do you use and what would you suggest? What is the difference between Seachem Reef Plus and Reef Trace? Would using seachem's 2 part reef fusion be much better than what I am using already?

My tank is pretty much LPS dominated.

xmetal...I pretty much use the exact same things you do. I add 1 teaspoon of each 1-2 times a week. Everything is thriving, so I am going to keep the same regimen!!

I use all seachem and I prefer reef plus for LPS as they seem to resond better to such. Reef Trace IMO is not worth the time. Reef plus seems to cover it for me and also makes my protein skimmer more productive (seems to work as an emulsifyer (SP? sorry I suck))!

I have been using aquavitro line by seachem the last few months and seem to be having good results, but then i have used seachem products for years and have always liked them.

Yea, the two products seem pretty much the same except for a few different ingredients.

That is what I am thinking about doing. Just sticking with what I am using now. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right?

i was trying Aquavitro's Fuel out for a little bit, but my LPS hated it and my plate actually started to lose flesh. According to inwall, it has a type of sugar or something in it that LPS can't stand.

No, after I use it I get huge algae blooms. Mainly diatoms. it became a hassle.

I use bulb reef supplies' two part system (soda ash for alk and calcium chloride for Ca, plus a mixture of Mg chloride and sulfate) I have also used Kent Coral Vite and Essential elements. I dosed them when I cut back on water changes as a way to supplement the trace elements in between them, but my tank didn't do as well, so I went back to weekly water changes. Plus, I don't test for iodine and essential elements and the coral vite contained iodine, plus my water changes, so I didn't want to risk overdosing that.

I don't have blooms, but I do notice I have to mag float my glass more often.

If I don't use DT (I assume you mean phyto) then my worms die and I have to buy new ones (soft tubed feathers). If I dose once a week, my worms stay with me until I miss a few weeks in a row... I try not to forget.

I use the same BRS system.

I see GM did water changes, then changed to dosing trace elements, saw a problem, and went back to water changes...

I quit doing water changes, don't dose for trace elements, and don't have problems...

The only WC my tank sees is every few months when I clean my skimmer. It's HOB and holds around 3 gallons. I change that water out when I clean it. So my 55 gallon sees a 3 gallon WC maybe 3x a year... And I don't dose anything other than the BRS kit...

I will not turn this thread into a WC debate - so don't bother - I won't respond. But IME dosing these additives is risky at best and detrimental at worst.
