Weird white pods in filter chamber

    There are about 30 that I see of these growing in the back chamber of my cube. They are mostly on the pumps but there are some on the walls as well. I picked one off and it was mushy but had a fiber like consistency to it. I happened to look tonight and noticed little hairs coming out of the end like it was some sort of filter feeder. Any clue what they are and if they are something I should be getting out of my tank?

    prob pineaplle sponges! never had them but hear the just run their course and die off!

    Just pineapple sponges- harmless filter feeders for as long as they last.

    Ahhhh, that's what you call those guys. Yes, I've had them now for months and was wondering too, I just couldn't get a good photo and was afraid to post "What's this small white thing?" as to I'd most likely get a hundred responses lacking a pic.... lol

    Just leave em be. They seem to kind of come and go in reef tanks. Maybe the availability of food or something has to do with this but they seem die off after a while.
