Hey I am considering purchasing the "lifeproof" waterproof phone case for my Iphone 4, I have to order a new screen for my phone since I knocked it off the top of the refrigerator the ONE day I didnt have my case mate case on and I have really been thinking about how sweet a waterproof case would be
I would like it because it would enable me to take the best possible pictures of my corals underwater since I unfortunately had to sell my SLR along with my waterproof case I had for it since I hadnt worked in a year and needed to pay some bills "luckily I am now working again"

I was at the AT&T store today and they had the "lifeproof" waterproof case today and it was a REALLY nice feeling case, it didnt really add much bulk to the phone, felt super solid and according to all of the reviews I have read online it gets amazing reviews in all catagories and the only downside anyone mentioned was having to use the dedicated headphone jack if you want to listen to music underwater while swimming/snorkeling while using waterproof earbuds

I am just curious if anyone here has this particular case and what your thoughts are on it...FWIW the original case is 69.99 and the "gen 2" case is 79.99, the only difference between Gen 1 and 2 is the fact that the Gen 2 has additional raised rubber bumpers around the side buttons and thats it

    Thanks in advance

Not sure what one I got I love mine tough. Only thing I don't like about it is the bottom door for charging port. Kinda sketchy not sure I would intentionally put it in water. But nonetheless awesome. Did put it in cooler one day to prove a point. Also dropped it one time and door popped open.

Otter box is supposed to have even a sweeter one out now I would check them out. I'm going to.

NO I REFUSE to get another otterbox "oughtaboughtanother box is more like it"
I had one before and HATED it and my wife has one on her 4S and its ridiculously bulky and the buttons are hard to push

The Lifeproof only add's 1/8" an inch and feels great in your hand

So basically anything OTHER than the otterbox but specifically the lifeproof I plan on getting

    Do you have the lifeproof?
Like I mentioned I held one today at AT&T with an Iphone in it and it really didn't add any bulk to the phone, especially for the amount of protection it add's

I also like that you can get a belt clip AND a bike mount for it since occasionally I ride a Honda Metropolitan scooter to work and around town and am soon buying another scooter "honda ruckus this time"
And like taht it clips onto the bars and will allow me to use the phone as a gps "OS6 maps are awesome BTW"

The ATT store by me one of the employe was showing it to a customer and threw his phone across the store into the wall. Person helping me said he does it at least once a day with no problems.
There are videos on youtube of more abuse tests. Water, run over by a car, ect.

Otterboxes always seem to collect dirt. get really nasty over time.

Been saving up for a GY6. why must you remind me of such things...

I have the lifeproof and it is amazing. I use my phone in a dusty work environment every day and my phone is still in perfect condition.

But the only thing that may make you unhappy is that you cannot use the screen when the phone is physically underwater. You can set a delay and click the button out of water but not underwater. You can still use the up volume button to take underwater pictures.

The reason you cant use the screen underwater is because the water is basically acting like 1 giant finger pressing the entire screen "conductivly speaking that is"

my brother had the gen 2 that is water proof and it works great, on the otter box note I have had mine for three years and its amazing.

if you get the water proof one you can take video of your tank under the water ;D
