Sell them to your local reef club.

Remember that fish consume a lot of oxygen. I have a 120g tank with 4 fish and i'm now thinking thats too many. Maybe 3 at most. I have maybe 200 snails and 100 other inverts in there aswell that consume oxygen and other resources.

In your tank i wouldn't add more than 1 or 2 fish at most. If you want to enjoy this hobby for a long time add the least amount of fish you can.

Think about the relative size of the ocean to the fish tank. Its like you moving out of your house into a cardboard box. You want to give them as much space as possible.

lol how do you get negative karma?

Yeah- I gave them back to another LFS. No credit and ended up buying a protein skimmer- but at least they will live!

And my tank is clearing up now that they are gone- which is great

Well that is a bummer you couldn't get credit for your fish. At least they are alive... and your tank is looking better. I've had to lose money learning things too.. I can understand where you are coming from. I hope you post pictures soon of your new corals you are getting. Would love to see them.

I cant believe they didnt give you anything for your fish. They are probably going to turn around and sell those fish for atleast 30 or 40 a piece. They should have atleast offered a trade in or something, maybe for inverts for your algae problem.
But like you said atleast they will survive now

Yeah- I bought the tang for $59 and the angel for $36. They said that they allow people to "adopt" the fish for free who have all the parameters that a tang or angel fish require (like a 100g, right type of owner, etc)

I was hoping they would let me have the skimmer for free which was like 80 bucks- but nope.

You live, you spend money, you learn

I suggest that everyone drop this subject and behavior regarding karma and stop bashing each other on threads and in profile messages. This is the only warning I'm going to give.
