Not if I want to keep the top. I guess I could always change out the cover and get an overflow. I just thought it was cool to have the chambers in the eclipse (kind of a poor man's biocube) that could be used for adding ammonia or phosphate reducer pads. Sounds like this has been tried unsuccessfully many times before? I thought I had come up with a new invention (guess that is why I am always posting in the newb area). I just finished fixing all the plumbing! I really need to read the responses before doing the work....ack!

One quick clarification, the pump bringing water into the first chamber does not have to be exact for this solution. In fact it is pumping too much water, with most of it overflowing into the second chamber by design. It would have to significantly lose power before disaster would occur. The return pump, I have put onto a stand so that it cannot push all the sump water back into the tank (at most about 1.5 gallons). The tank would overflow (I tested) but it would not empty the sump and if the return pump broke the pump bring water to the sump can only push about 2.5 gallons from the tank before running out of water (this again causes a slight overflow of the sump area).

Any overflow recommentations for a 15 gallon to a 5.5 sump? My girls are going to kill me, I told them the tank would be ready for LR and sand this weekend :)

    Thanks for all the feedback!
