vortech question

One of my vortechs has been acting up recently... this is what it does: Set it to reef crest, works for 3-4 days then the light bar goes red. Set it to lagoon, works for about a week or so then goes to red. Set it at constant speed and it works just fine all the time.

whats up with it? Is the motor going bad :-/

 

Forgive me for asking the obviuos, but have you checked with EcoTech support? I am sure they can diagnose it pretty quick given it throws an error light.

 

yes, that is pretty obviously the best answer... but I was just trying to see if it was something I could quickly fix myself without having to call them, sit on hold forever, explain it all to them, get the answer, then be talked into buying all new stuff lol.

if nobody on here knows right off the top of their head then I guess ill have to call : haha

 

Don't know, but have you tried resetting it?

 

Seems like it may be overheating(for whatever reason).
