Vortech MP40W VS MP40W ES

I have a quick opportunity to pick up a new MP40W. I was looking for the ES model. Price is 250 but I'm going for 150 and i believe I'm going to get it.

Heres my problem I really want the ES. I could get it and upgrade it for $100.

Heres my question my understanding is the only difference between the two is the ES has some added modes and the ability to coordinate with multiple pumps and the W cant so is it worth it to get this for my 72 Bowfront? Will the wireless apex WXM module work with it?

The person selling it said it is a MP40W with upgraded mod. What does that mean?

The ES means ecosmart modes


So the only difference if your model codes are correct is the loss of ecosmart modes. Not the ability to use multiple pumps. (wireless communication means nothing to you till you get 2, then it is easily worth the extra investment)

As far as the ES modes. Personally I only use the ecosmart modes, but I know many a happy reefer running reef crest and short pulse on the non-ecosmart models

 

how many modes does the "W" version have?

 

I run reef crest on mine and i have a MP40 upgraded to a MP40wES

 

Do you guys think 225 is a good deal on the mp40w?

 

I think that its a good deal I paid about that for mine then upgraded it.

 

There are only 2 modes on the ecosomart that aren't on the non ES model.

I think 225 is a great deal, I would pick up one for that price.
