Vortech mp10

i heard a lot of good things about this pump. it is rated for up to 50gal tanks. my tank is 55 (48"L). do you think i should get the mp20 or mp10 will do just fine? there is a 100$ difference between those two.
does anyone have an experience with mp10 on a 55?

I have a mp40 on my 72g. which is also 48" long.... I think a mp20 would be good. Will that be the only pump in your setup?

 

i heard theres not much of a difference between the mp10 and mp20 at all besides $100! but idk if it would be enough or not but sorry to hi-jack but i was wondering if a mp-10 would be good on a 40 (36" long?)

 

well, i really want it to be the only pump. i don't like all these bulky looking things in my tank and if the Vortech is enough as they say it is than i would get it in a heartbeat (and if the mp10 would be enough than i'll be super happy).

 

When in doubt always go bigger. Plus going bigger has no side effects esp with a pump you can controll. If you get 20 and its to much turn it down....if you get the ten and its not enough nothing you can do! Also if you ever upgarde you will be glad you got the mp20 and not the 10! just my .02

I agree MP20. It does depend what you're planning on keeping, an MP10 *might* be enough, but it's better to be safe and spend a little more money up front rather than selling and rebuying IMO.
