What is a good size Vortech for a 40 gallon breeder tank?

    Is a MP10 good enough?

Ive never seen one/used one but based on what ive seen and heard. it should be enough. the 40 may work if dialed back, and you could always use it toward future, larger tanks;)

but i dont think you would be disappointed in the mp10. i hate how expensive they are though  i want a 40 for my 75, and a 10 for my 20. and i want... lol the list goes on.

It will work fine. Make sure you keep it in the middle of the glass wall you put it on. As stated you will have to dial it back unless you like your sand moved around.

i have 2 MP10es w and they are really dialed back on my 40gal breeder! %25 of full blast keeps my sand in place but its pretty fine black sand. Any higher and i get dunes!

I have a 40 in my 65g (same dimensions just a lil higher) and I have it cranked all the way up. No sand moving and my corals love it.

Yeah, I'm thinking a MP10 won't be too much for in there, because I have an MP40 in my 90 gallon and I don't think it's strong enough!

What are you planning on keeping in your 40? I know 1 is not enough for SPS.

That tank is fish only and I have no plans on putting coral in there. I don't want to buy nice lights for that tank :)
