We can't even see the side walls of the tank. It could be a 50 foot long as far as I can tell.

Im wondering if in some cases

fish get moved into there as they are the last few fish in a tank and a new delivery comes in

so 4 or 5 YTBs get netted out of the 2ft sellling tank and put wherever , in order to have room so that a tank full of new arrivals can be put in

IDK, but I really don't like the practice. Even in the pic above, the fish is too big for that tank. If the tank is 50' long...so what? The fish can't easily turn around in the middle. It's an obstruction of movement & environment. The tank isn't wide enough.

At my LFS, they have a frag tank and a colony tank.

In the frag tank, they have a melanurus wrasse, blue tang, and domino damsel. They started the tank with the damsel, and later added the tang and wrasse for their obvious utility in eating algae and parasites.

In the colony tank, they have a blenny and another halichoeres wrasse, again, seemingly for utility purposes.

Actually, damsels are a perfect addition to to a frag tank. They are known to eat flatworms, and will not touch corals.
