Ditto Matt's question. I like the flow pattern.

I don't see much difference...the Coral Frenzy seems to work well and I have a source for it at a good price so I stick with it. I like that it has a wide range of particle sizes since every coral tends to have a micron size they prefer to feed on.

I keep it pretty simple. I have another ~100g of sump/water in the basement right below/behind the tank. A remote sand bed and about 100 lbs of "extra" rock in the sump that creates a "cryptic" zone of sorts. Water flows into the sump via a turf scrubber. Flow is accomplished with a closed loop. Lighting is 6 x T5HO staggered to cover the 6' of tank length. That's about it.

This tank was designed for LPS and softies (I have another tank to play with the sticks). As such, I wanted plenty of flow but I wanted it to be very "soft" and random. The closed loop was redone 2 or 3 times and "fiddled with" 100's of time in-between redo's before I got it exactly how I wanted it.

Yes, a vertical ATS setup...gravity fed off the main drain of the display...I'll get some "basement" shots and post them.

    As promised, the "basement":

Water enters on the right hand side via the ATS...the containers are "hooked together" with uni-seals...Far right, or #1, is the ATS...#2 is a sand bed (aka purgatory for critters that don't play nice)...#3 is live rock...#4 returns back to the display.

Well done! That looks great. I love the pvc work and that the outlets are above it all.
