right folks i turn to you all once again for your input and guidance!

    I will be asking opinions about the following topics;

    my feeding schedual and amounts
    my water changes
    my lighting hours
    ..general stuff

    fist off the basics:

    TANK,

    450 liter
about 60 kilos of live rock
5 cm thick live sand bed
mechanical filtration obtained from a tunze reefpack 505
2 t5 rails with 2 day lights and 2 night lights (total of 4 t5s)

    BIOLOAD,

    2 true p.
    1 BSP
    3 chromis v
    1 coral beauty
    1 yellow tang
    1 6 liner
    1 diamond goby
    1 mandarin soon

    CUC,

    3 hermits
    bunch of snails
    2 bloodshrimp
    1 peppermint
    2 skunks

    alright question one!

i feed me fish twice a day once in the morning when i wake up, before i leave for work (around 7 30 am, lights have been one for about 30 mins) and once im home around 6pm. portion wise i feed them about half a pinky tip.

one the menu is mix of sea creatures chopped up and blended with some green and red flakes as well as some algae. what i also add in is baby brine shrimp called, if im not mistaken, naupli (this is the early stage of the brine shrimp life cycle, where they are still attached to their egg "yolk" and consist a high protein food for the fish. is this correct?) to little too much? thoughts please

    question two,

every week i clean my mechanical dome filter and the skimmer as well as the pumps to get rid of any crunck that might have built up. every TWO weeks i remove 40 liters of water from the 450, is this enough? should i be removing 40 liters weekly?

    and finally question three,

lights on at 730 am off at 930 pm with light blue leds (lowest intensity setting) on all day/night to avoid my goby from freaking out at night and jumping (coward is afraid of ghosts at night) to much light? i could probably get by putting the leds on a timer and having them shut down during the day.

    and ultra finally, general stuff....

    over stocked? any clarifications needed?

    thank you for the input
    -jeff-

Feedings sound about right, may want to look into some marine angel food (contains sponges) for the coral beauty, it can really increase it's health long term.
IMO you have your lights on a little long, I shoot to run mine about 8 hours a day (on a timer). 14 hours is a fairly long day and could result in algae growth. As for water changes, I would say what you are doing is good as long as your nitrates are staying low. If they are creping up, I would increase the water changes (size or frequency, or both if need be).
    Hope that helps,
    Jake

    (pulls out calculator...) :)

    So about a 120 gallon tank - is this a 4ft x 2ft x 2 ft tank? (1.2m x .6m x .6m)

    60 kilos = 132 lb

    5cm = 2 inches

    Ok, gotcha :)

Bioload looks pretty good, though you may want a little more live rock to avoid spikes.

Looks about right - you might want to invest in more hermits for additional cleaning.

40 liters is less than 10% every two weeks. The question is whether you have corals in your tank or not and if so, what kind. If you're keeping a reef then you might be a little light on water changes. I do about 15% every three weeks or so and would like to do more.

A lot depends on what corals, if any, you have.

Overall I certainly can't say you're doing anything "wrong" with your set up.

    My recommendations:

    - Up the water change amount a bit. Either more frequent or higher volume. Frankly, you're not bad now, but a little more would be better.

    - Get more small hermits to increase your clean up crew. Maybe add a couple serpent stars and other stuff too.

    - Are you testing Calcium? Your LPS will need it to grow their bases. You don't have a lot of stuff that uses it, but you should probably test. Water changes can help keep it high, but never quite high enough so supplementation is good with LPS.
