Very Active Watchman Goby

My watchman took a while to acclimate to his new surroundings. He was very shy and anytime I approached the tank he would go and hide. Now he just does his thing and couldn't be happier.

 

I have 2 watchmans and they burried under a flat rock . This has been their home since day 1 . They close themselves in their hole at night . When I first put them in the tank , ya they tried to jump but only for the first hour then got settled in .

Many fish will change color when it's bedtime. Many fade ....we always said they were putting on their pajamas and getting ready for bed.

My sailfin turns a beautiful deep black and yellow when he's pissed whenever I've got my hand in the tank moving corals. ;D

 

Pretty soon it will be opening its mouth and claiming its own territory. I had a watchmen goby for 10 years. He once got squished by a shifting rock. It kinked his spine and he was forever in an "L" shape. Tough little buggers those watchmen gobies.

 

I remember years ago we had a hippo tang that while my husband was having to move some rocks got pinned against the wall....TWICE ! I said," What's that yellow thing back there?". OH SH** ! It was his tail. He live for a couple years after that until we lost entire tank due to leaving air conditioner off during vacation.
