I'm installing a Emperor Aquatics Smart UV "LITE" Sterilizer above my sump...I have the water inlet and outlet pointing down to the sump..Do I need to have the inlet/outlet pointing up for it to be running right? Or will it be fine with them pointing down?

If the pump can handle the head the only thing I can think of that may be of concern is leaks. It may be more prone to that when upside down.

You should be fine, if ure using your main line as the water source, just flush through with more pressure to get the air out and u'll be fine.

BTW, from that pic, I would HIGHLY recommend you use clamps and not zip-ties to clamp the tubing. You're just asking to get a leak and a flood. ;p

I have seen UV sterilizers mounted in all different directions. All with success. I second the notion to go to metal clamps. Why take a chance imo.
